I get a lot of questions; some serious, some not so much!  Here is a list of my favorites...

Dude, what's with that name - Spinnaker Karaoke?  It's a good question actually.  Spinnakers and karaoke really have nothing in common, except they both represent two of my greatest sources of joy (after my family of course).  Most everyone in Florida knows what a spinnaker is, but if you happen to be visiting this site from a desert state, a spinnaker is described by Wikipedia as:

A spinnaker is a special type of sail that is designed specifically for sailing off the wind from a reaching course to a downwind, i.e. with the wind 90°–180° off the bow. The spinnaker fills with wind and balloons out in front of the boat when it is deployed, called flying. It is constructed of lightweight fabric, usually nylon, and is often brightly colored. It may be optimized for a particular range of wind angles, as either a reaching or a running spinnaker, by the shaping of the panels and seams. The spinnaker is often called a kite, or a chute (as in cruising chute) because it somewhat resembles a parachute in both construction and appearance.

 

In other words, the big blue sail on the boat at the top of this web page!  Both spinnakers and karaoke (or any DJ work for that matter) take me to a special place of happiness, and so I named my company Spinnaker Karaoke!

Do you use a contract?  Yes I do.  I call it an "Event Booking Confirmation" but it is in fact a contract.   I believe that in business a well understood agreement between two parties ensures that they will remain friends.  In my business referrals and repeat business mean everything.  I don't want to disappoint my clients and at the same time, they need to understand my requirements as well.

What are your "Ts and Cs"?.  A 50% deposit is due at the time of the booking for an event.  No bookings will be accepted without the deposit.  The balance due amount is due paid in full no later than seven days prior to the event date (Balance Due date).  If the full balance due is not received by the Balance Due Date, the Booking is automatically cancelled and all deposit amounts are forfeited.

Will you accept Purchase Orders?  Yes.  With a valid purchase order and letter of intent from an authorized signatory for the corporation, the requirement for the 50% Booking Deposit will be waived.  However, the balance due amount is still due paid in full no later than seven days prior to the event date (the Balance Due date).  If the full balance due is not received by the Balance Due Date, the Booking is automatically cancelled and all deposit amounts are forfeited.

What type of karaoke / songs / videos do you have to play?  I have all genres, from each decade from the 40s to today.  Whether it is country or hip hop, soul to pop, I have the music you are looking for.  And the library grows every month with new releases!

Do you take credit cards?  Sorry, no I do not.  I accept cash or checks made payable to Spinnaker Karaoke.

Do you have a pricelist?  Because every event has its own special nuances from length of the event, special adaptations requested (such as disco lighting), complexity of the event (I had an event 2 months ago where I had to provide three different programs in the same venue simultaneously), location and other factors, it is impossible to develop a price list. Every event is unique and special and I treat everyone that way. But that does not mean that it is expensive!!  If I could get some detail about what your event will look like I would love to give you a quote.
